What to configure

Categories

Create your top-level categories first.

Main Courses, Starters, Pizzas, Beverages, Desserts.

Categories appear as tabs in the POS ordering screen and as sections in the QR self-order menu.

Menu items

Menu builder setup

For each item add: name, description, price, category, photo, and availability status.

Mark best sellers and flag vegetarian, vegan, and popular items.

Modifiers

Create modifier groups for items with choices.

Required (customer must choose) and Optional (add-ons).

Examples: milk type for coffee, cooking preference for steak, size for beverages.

Allergen tags

Tag every item with applicable allergens from the full 14-allergen list.

Visible to staff at the POS and to customers on the QR self-order menu.

Important for UK, Australia, and EU legal compliance.

Availability toggles

Set items as available by default.

During service, any staff member with the right permission can toggle an item unavailable in seconds - removing it from POS and QR menu instantly.

Pricing

Set the base price for each item.

Add price variants through modifier groups if needed. Tax applied at order level based on your venue tax settings.

CSV import

If your menu is already in a spreadsheet, export as CSV and import into Intelura in one upload. Template available in the Menu Builder import screen.
